About Me

"Patience and the ability to read light are the foundations of exceptional photography"

Learning to See Beyond the Scene

I was born in India and moved permanently to Canada in 2009. It was during this transition that my interest in nature photography began to grow.

Like many photographers starting their journey, I was inspired by the breathtaking images I saw in professional portfolios. Yet, despite having beautiful landscapes in front of me, I struggled to create photographs that truly captured what I experienced. I soon realized that upgrading my camera and lenses was not the answer — I was focusing on the wrong aspects of photography.

I began studying the work of experienced photographers, reading books, and learning from those who had spent years refining their craft. Gradually, I discovered that a beautiful scene does not automatically become a compelling photograph. The elements that make an image meaningful are often subtle: a strong focal point, thoughtful composition, intentional subject selection, and above all, an understanding of light and how it shapes the story within the frame.

This shift in perspective changed the way I approach photography. Instead of simply capturing what I saw, I learned to slow down, observe carefully, and consider how every element contributes to the final image. With time and practice, photography became a way to express not only the beauty of a place, but also the feeling and atmosphere that drew me there.

Canada’s vast and diverse landscapes have been the perfect setting for this journey. From quiet forests and rugged coastlines to mountain trails and fleeting moments of light, nature continues to inspire my curiosity and creativity. The greatest reward is not only the photograph itself, but the experience of being present in these places — hiking, exploring, and waiting patiently for the moment when light transforms a scene.
